I'm Aurore Declève, founder of the Au Chat d'Argile workshop. Our introductory throwing courses are structured into three distinct sessions, each devoted to a specific aspect of pottery, while our modeling sessions are divided into two enriching stages. From your first foray into the workshop, you'll discover the pleasures of throwing: you'll learn how to center clay, shape it and raise it on the wheel. This practice, while delicate, requires patience and dedication, is also incredibly rewarding, offering spectacular and visually impressive results from the very first attempts.
Once you've mastered the basic techniques of turning, we'll move on together to a more advanced phase of this discipline, where you'll learn how to refine and personalize your creations. This crucial stage enables you to put your signature on each piece, giving it that unique character that transforms a simple object into a personal and recognizable work of art. Finally, the third stage, enameling, is the one that transforms your raw pieces into true masterpieces. This is when your creations take on their definitive colors and textures, ready to be proudly displayed.
With a limited number of three potter's wheels available, our training sessions offer an extremely intimate, tailor-made learning environment. Under my careful guidance, you'll plunge into the fascinating world of clay, discovering an almost infinite palette of techniques and artistic expressions. This environment will enable you to nurture and refine your artistic sensibility, while awakening your creativity with every touch of the material.
